Immigration Reform: Changes In Arizona’s Law

August 31st, 2010 by admin

One piece of immigration reform news that has recently received a lot of attention is the new immigration law in Arizona. This law has obtained a lot of criticism mainly because a number of people believe that it allows for racial profiling. The law has since been changed so that police officers are only able to stop people and examine their immigration status when they have already broken a law.

The new immigration laws in Arizona have the potential to change things across america. The United States is closely watching what happens there to know how these laws will be applied in different states near our border. The Federation for American Immigration Reform is in favor of these modifications, and explains that it is a great step towards reducing illegal immigration and represents a positive change in allowing states to make their own immigration laws.
