The United States has a number of different debts that they need to repay. The biggest holders of United States debt include China, Japan and the United Kingdom. This debt amounts to about 4.45 trillion dollars. When people are looking at National Debt FAQs, they will find that projections on debt are not always accurate. When George W. Bush was the president in 2002, there was a projected surplus. This actually end up being just the opposite as the United States had a debt of around 851 billion dollars.
